چکیده
Paclitaxel (Taxol®) is a potent anticancer agent, but the widespread pharmaceutical use of paclitaxel hampered by its limited availability due to low accumulation levels in native yew (Taxus spp.) plants. Currently, hairy root culture an emerging biotechnological tool that presents several advantages such as reduced costs and higher specialized metabolite production, therefore, application production can be commercial medicinal interest. The objective present study was induce Taxus baccata L. transformation with wild type Rhizobium rhizogenes A4 strain. Thus, T. inoculated three different inoculation methods: (a) ex vitro seedlings direct injection liquid bacterial culture; (b) needles co-culturing bacteria; (c) shoots dipping culture. Hairy roots were formed only from method, efficiency 14.3%. Formation observed two months after inoculation. This project forms basis for establishment cultures paclitaxel.

Agrobacterium rhizogenes mediated hairy root induction for increased Colchicine content in Gloriosa superba L
Gloriosa superba L. a medicinally important monocot, member of the family Liliaceae, was investigated for callusing, direct regeneration and induction of hairy root using soil bacterium Agrobacterium rhizogenes. Friable callus was initiated from corms on basal MS medium amended with 2,4-D (1 mg L) and kinetin (1 mg L). Callus generated from such effective combinations were co-cultivated with th...

Four lignan type compounds, lariciresinol, taxiresinol, isolariciresinol and 3-demethyl-iso-lariciresinol, were isolated from the heartwood of Taxus baccata L. (Taxaceae) growing in Turkey through chromatographic techniques. In vivo anti-ulcerogenic potency of these compounds was investigated on ethanol-induced ulcerogenesis model in rats at two different doses, 50 and 100 mg/kg. All compounds ...
متن کاملproducing a high scopolamine hairy root clone in hyoscyamus muticus through transformation by agrobacterium rhizogenes
agrobacterium rhizogenes causes hairy root disease in plants. these hairy roots are ge-netically stable and grow rapidly. transformed hairy roots of hyoscyamus muticus in-duced by the bacterium can produce tropane alkaloids in trace amounts of intact plant tissues. in this research, in order to compare growth and biosynthetic stability of hairy roots with wild type ones, leaf and nodal segments...
متن کاملGenetic Transformation and Hairy Root Induction Enhance the Antioxidant Potential of Lactuca serriola L.
Lactuca serriola L. is a herbaceous species, used for human nutrition and medicinal purposes. The high antioxidant capacity of L. serriola indicates the possibility of enhancing its edible and health potential by increasing the flavonoid and phenolic contents. The present study aimed at enhancing the production of phenolics and flavonoids by hairy root cultures in Lactuca serriola transformed w...
